SAXTON

Seattle, WA
392,000SF - 325 units

Saxton transformed a vacant parking lot in First Hill into a dynamic city block with space for residents to live, lounge, and shop. The project is a case-study in moderating the impressive size of the building by prioritizing the corners and characterizing them with exquisitely detailed brick and stone. The courtyard, which opens itself to the city via two breezeway connections, is a sanctuary from the noise of the streets and an outdoor living room for the building residents complete with a waterfall fountain, fireplace hearth, and plenty of comfy furniture. With the main entrance on Terry Avenue, Saxton is the first building to complete the Seattle Green Street vision by incorporating lush plantings, bike racks, and public seating areas.
